Windsurfing: FELIXSTOWE DIP Wind Direction: NE Wind Stength: 10-15 Surf / Sea State: FLAT Air Temperature: WARM Sea Temperature: WARM Weather: SUNNY Max Speed: 18kts (knots - unless stated otherwise) Distance Covered: 19 (Nautical Miles - unless stated otherwise)
Was supposed to be with Pete G by mid day, as he was planing on his new
phantom 380 / 9.5 and thinking about changing down.
Joined him 2.30. Wind eased a bit, coming NE about 10/12 kts.
Rigged the same 380/9.5 and we played having a beat to the river (he lost
:) Pete misjudged the green marker.
The wind stayed at 10kts so maybe you guys would not have planed. Amazingly
when we turned to reach back, Pete is so light he had the track all the way
back blasting easily away from me. The wings on the phantom is not a
gimmick. When following closely if the wind was light the tail sat on the
wings planing in little wind whilst I had to force my board on the rail. As
soon as a breeze it hydrofoils off like a rocket! Pete had to leave and as
soon as he packed up about 4.30 as forecast the wind kicked in to prob
12/15kts and big guys would have been ok on 8.5 short bd and little guys 7
ish.
It was great and really warm. Reached down to the pier on the stiff breeze
- had to crank the outhaul adjuster in.
The wind stayed up and I stayed on my own till 6.30, could have stayed
longer. Could have used 8.5 big bd. Great 5 ***** sail. Watched the tennis
later.
The wind will be back same Monday. Most of you will sail on big sail/big
board as it was 15kts about 4.0 and it stayed up
